7 Tips to Start Your Day Productively

Sometimes you get bored at work, start looking for best sports betting odds, chatting with friends or colleagues. If you’re lacking productivity right now, grab a coffee and make these morning habits part of your routine on a regular basis. These easy tips will help you get ahead and reach your goals.

Sleep Well

You should start thinking about the coming day in the evening, and if you already want to sleep in the office in the morning, then the work is unlikely to bring the desired result. That’s why you should go to bed early and not rely on your morning coffee, which will cheer you up and give you the necessary energy. Healthy sleep is the basis of future success at work.

Get Into Bed for a Little While

One of the most proven and effective ways to break into a new day productively. Give yourself a chance to lie down for a while, think through your plans, and pull your thoughts together. It won’t take long, but it will be easier to get out from under the covers.

Don’t Forget to Eat Breakfast

A good and hearty breakfast gives you energy, improves short-term memory, and helps you concentrate. Besides, if you eat breakfast, you won’t be bothered by a rumbling stomach.

Eat a Frog

Mark Twain said that if the first thing you do in the morning is eat a live frog, you can spend the rest of the day knowing that it won’t get any worse. That doesn’t mean you have to go and replace your morning coffee with a frog-it just means you have to do your most important task first. Lots of studies have shown that we have the most willpower in the morning, so get to your most important task right away.

Look Only for the “Important Ones”

Productivity experts recommend not spending your mornings reading and answering emails (this can completely undermine your good intentions for the morning). Focus your morning on exactly what you need to get done, not what people need from you.

Quickly scan your emails to see if there’s anything really important that will set your goals for the day, and then get on with your work. All those requests, interruptions, unexpected surprises and reminders are endless. There are very few things that can’t wait at least 59 minutes.

So, if you want to be more productive during the day, stay away from the mailbox in the morning.

Make a To-do List

Making a to-do list may seem like another addition to the chaos, but it’s like a compass that will lead you to be productive during the day. How do you decide which task is “more important” than the other? Ask yourself five questions:

  • Will this move move you toward a big professional goal?
  • Does your boss consider it a top priority?
  • Does it make you money?
  • Will it take the pressure off of you?
  • can it only be done today?

Once you’ve made your list, break down any big tasks into specific actions you’ll take to accomplish them.

Meet With Your Colleagues

This step is small but powerful. Say hello to your colleagues in the morning. Not only will this help you start the day in a good mood, but they’re much more likely to help a friendly colleague than a grumpy one if you suddenly need help with work.

So there you have it. These 7 things you should do to get more tasks done during the workday. Have some coffee, eat a metaphorical frog, and get to work.
